Hey there! Lets talk..
Why invest in good quality photos?
We live in a world of evolving technology. Everyone can take a picture.. right? Photography is a growing hobby and soon every one will be able to take decent pictures, but here's the thing. The quality of a pictures is worth every penny. You want to blow up that picture you took on your phone to an 11x14 and give to someone for a gift? You are not going to get the quality that picture might deserve. As photographers, we know the science behind quality. Printing a picture can be pretty easy, heck you can even do it on your weekly Walmart run while you shop for groceries. Now i'm not dogging Walmart quality photos.. but.. we know how to go the next level with prints and if your paying for these perfect pictures why not get the perfect prints as well. Ordering photos through me is so simple! We have a couple options. An in-person viewing would consist of sitting down together and viewing your photos. Once you pick the photos that you love, you can fill out my prints form and get those pictures ordered that day! Or you can download your prints off of a gallery and find somewhere to print them your self. Either option is great! But, if you order through me, your guaranteed to have perfect quality pictures and won't be disappointed when you open your prints and not be fully confident that they will turn out perfect.
On the flip side of things, people don't see/understand you are also paying for someones time to edit those "picture perfect" pictures. You'r kiddos got a runny nose? We got you. Your husband didn't Iron his shirt before the shoot? WE got it. Can you edit people out of a back ground and make it look flawless? You might be able to and if you can you might consider photography! but.. those edits take time. One photo session (depending on how large the session was) can take up to 8 hours of editing time. SO.. lets say you pay a photographer $200 for a family session. You shoot for 2 hours and then they edit for 8. 10 hours total. That's $20 an hour. Sounds pretty good right?! Now take off more for gas to get there, buying camera equipment( with is not CHEAP), paying monthly fees for things like photoshop, our websites, and our viewing galleries. That goes down pretty quick. So when you are thinking about investing in a photo shoot think about the "BIG PICTURE!" haha... see what I did there?
Anyways, I love running specials as well! I want people to have good memories to look back on. I know you've heard the saying "once someone is gone the memories are all we have left of them." and pictures are an added visual. Babies grow fast, good dogs turn grey, and we are never promised tomorrow! So book the session!!
Things to consider
I have thrown around the idea of creating payment plans. If you absolutely can not afford a photo shoot and you are really wanting to get family pictures done ect, lets talk. We can work something out. My hair dresser and I trade services all the time! She does my hair, I take her pictures. Its an easy solution and we're both happy. Need a couple months to pay it off? We can make a contract of your payment every month and once you are paid off your pictures will be delivered.
Watch for mini sessions! Most of the time during season change I will post that im doing mini sessions! They are always super affordable and you get 5-10 great photos!
Package deals.. what does that mean? Are you a bride looking to get all the works? Just got engaged, need someone for the day of the wedding, want to get your husband a wedding gift and are considering a bridal boudior? These are the type of things you can bundle and save!! Another example would be babies. You can contract me for newborn,3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 1 years photos and save money.
How often should we take pictures?
Well, what is important to you in life? Have a new baby? Adopted a child and are welcoming them to the family? Grandpa and grandma are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary? These are things that you wouldn't let go uncelebrated? so let document them! People change fast so every couple years is appropriate for pictures!
We need to remember that life is short.. Take the trip, buy the shoes, eat the ice cream, and LOVE big! You never know when its the end of the road. Take the picture, book the session, don't let memories be forgoten.
Lots of love,
XOXO Ashton
